The Capital City Republicans will host a Presidential Preference Poll (PPP) in Alaska's Capital City on Tuesday the 6th of March 2012 at the Juneau Yacht Club from 4 pm until 8 pm. The PPP will be held at the same time and with the same procedures in communities across the Last Frontier, and all registered Republicans will be able to vote to express their preference for the best candidate to challenge and beat Barack Obama this November. Alaska will allocate its delegates to the Republican National Convention in proportion to the number of votes received by each candidate in the PPP on the 6th of March. Republicans from House Districts outside Juneau will be able to vote at the Juneau PPP.
On the same date, starting at 6.30 pm, the CCRs will also hold a District Convention for new House Districts 31 & 32 (formerly House Districts 4 & 3) at the Juneau Yacht Club. Registered voters in House Districts 31 & 32 will meet to elect officers and delegates to the State Republican Convention, and also to consider possible resolutions and rule changes to be forwarded to the State Convention. A registration fee will be charged for all persons wishing to participate in the District Convention. |

The Capital City Republicans (CCRs) celebrated the first annual Ted Stevens Day in honor one of the greatest Alaskans of all time on the 24th of July 2011. The fourth Saturday of July was legally designated by Governor Sean Parnell and the Alaska Legislature earlier this year as Ted Stevens Day. Over a hundred Alaskans came to the community picnic at Sandy Beach in Douglas to celebrate the memory of the late U.S. Senator Ted Stevens and the countless good things he did for the Great Land. Celebrations were also held in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Nome, and Skagway and the CCRs look forward to celebrating this great day in future years!
